Hebrews 12:3 "Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted."

View Points
I used to just read my bible and see what information I could obtain by just reading. I decided today that I'd like to read other interpretations of what I'm reading so I can learn more from my bible reading. Today I was reading Exodus 7 and 8 but I decided to read my message bible with it. I also read the notes in my NIV bible and I skimmed the African Bible Commentary afterwards. I got some interesting viewpoints that I would have never thought about just because I read these other sources. There were some interesting comparisons to how pharaoh's stubborness shielded his eyes from the truth and stubborness in our lives can do the same thing. The African Bible Commentary also focused on how God sending plagues showed his sovereignty and gave us some characteristics of what he is like. It gave me a better meaning of what God was trying to do through these passages and I learned a lot from looking at other view points. It is good to broaden your perspective by looking at what others have to say. I think I am going to continue doing this because I got so much more out of my bible reading today because of it.
